Here’s why I love this guy..
He may have left from bitterness(and maybe a bit of a burst to his huge ego), but came back, and was welcomed back. Well that might have something to do with Kogure, which is why I ship MitKo so much.

I love them all! I think I read somewhere that this was in addition to the “10 days later”, thing he did for the 10 year anniversary. Fantastic!

Yeah a little bit but I think he was supposed to be drawn like that.
Inoue Takehiko drew these as part of an article about Slam Dunk: 10 Days After. They appeared in issue #23 of Switch along with a watercolor cover. SD: 10 Days After was created to celebrate selling 100 million copies of Slam Dunk.
I love the Mitsui drawing so much that it’s been an icon and avatar for me ever since 2005, when I downloaded the low-res files from itplanning.co.jp. I actually turned all of them into icons but ended up keeping only two, the Mitsui one and the Sakuragi one.
The most touching. Coach Anzai and Mitsui. Best scene ever!
